Refers to any system that combines conventional aquaculture with hydroponics.
Aquaponics is an ideal type of farming as it uses 90% less water than conventional methods, takes up a 1/7th of space, creates fresh and natural produce all year round, and can take less time to manage. With access to plentiful water and productive soil being a challenge around the world, these systems can be transformative. In the hands of an entrepreneur or organization, they can provide an income year round.
